Lucia G Meredith Nelson is a graduate in Mathematics and Economics from Scripps College, Claremont, California USA and has devoted her time to promoting the arts and specifically classical ballet.She served as Chairman of the Board for the Sun Valley Ballet Foundation (a not-for-profit foundation), Sun Valley Idaho for 5 years.
She continues her philanthropic work with the Russian Ballet Masters, Victor and Tatiana Kasatsky former principals of the 'Moscow Classical Ballet' and their VandT Dance School and Academie (www.vandtdance.com) .
Instrumental in the formation of a new not-for-profit foundation to support the 'Grand Ballet', a life long vision of Victor and Tatiana, she continues to provide support and expertise in this very worthy enterprise.
She works as a master costumer for ballet productions such as the 'Nutcracker', and has had her costumes and tutus worn for competitions such as the 'YAGP- Youth America Grand Prix' in regional and final competitions in New York City,New York USA, Cathy Roe in California, USA, Tanzolymp in Berlin, Germany and competitions in Moscow, The Russian Federation.
Lucia has lived for extended periods overseas and has visited many countries, including Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Columbia, Canada, The United Kingdom, Italy, Austria, Hungary, Slovakia , Czech Republic, Germany, Lichtenstein, Switzerland, France, Poland and Russia, and intends to visit many more :-).
